- Backshell ToolingThe evolution of circular connectors has produced a multitude of configurations which have more precise dimensional tolerances and electrical characteristics than any other mechanical component used in modern electrical systems. The associated tooling must meet the same level of precision to apply the connector to its intended purpose. Until now, very little attention has been focused on the tooling which is used to mount strain-relief backshells and other accessories to wired connector assemblies. This is why the BETA® system was developed.

Overhead Line Connectors – for lines hanging above ground!

Cabling can be run above ground or underground, and when above ground, Elpress has a range of overhead line connectors that cover products for copper wires, aluminum alloy wires of Al/Mg/Si (Super B) type and Al59, along with ACSR for steel wires. Apart from the well-known spliced joints for 10-35 mm² copper wires and 31-99 mm² aluminum wires, there are also crimping joints for aluminum wires.

LFS type connectors for 31-241 mm² aluminum wires and LFEAL for 62 and 99 mm² ACSR wires are crimped using Elpress system tools, and have been tested in accordance with the requirements of SS 424 1241.
